Creating a beautiful outdoor living space
After seeing some of our previous work, our clients wanted something truly special from us. As a real “design and build” project we had the ability to make changes on the fly to suit the area.
After being supplied a fairly ‘brief’ brief to work from, we had full creative license to create an extension to the living area around the pool and make the most of the views from the property at the back.
Using almost 1000 metres of kwila, we built the deck around the main focal point of the Pohutukawa in a way that made the tree feel more of a feature.
The timber decking was scribed around the trunk of the tree to look neat and tidy but giving the tree room to grow.
The recessed stairs make the most of the deck space and allow the two areas to flow seamlessly between the pool and seating area.
The deck is now a functional and spacious outdoor living area and made use of what was previous wasted space at the rear of the property. This area is now perfect for relaxing around the pool or family barbeques.
